Hi everybody.

I am using wpForo together with Ultimate Member on my site. So the forum is only accessible after registration via an ultimate member registration form, and every single member has to be manually approved by an administrator. The page of the forum isn't even visible for unregistered visitors. So, everyone in the forum is individually approved, no spam control whatsoever is needed.

Unfortunately, it seems like the requirement of wpForo to not do any spam control and any moderation, is harder to achieve than I thought.

I deactivated wpFoto Spam Control and set the moderation limit to zero posts. I don't even want the first post to be moderated. In the attachment you can see the settings page. It still moderates the first post of any new member. I deactivated Akismet completely, it didn't help.

I found this topic ( https://wpforo.com/community/how-to-and-troubleshooting-2/how-to-turn-off-the-1st-post-topic-moderation-requirement/) and I am currently trying the settings proposed. But even if they would work, I wouldn't understand why.

How can a new member be moderated when it is under hard spam control during the first "zero" posts? Why is there still moderation when I deactivate wpForo spam control? Even if these are two seperate settings, shouldn't there be a button deactivation all moderation, too?

No offense, I really like wpForo and I know spam control is tremendously important today, but this behavior seems to be carrying it to excess.

Hi Tilman

There is a separate auto-moderation function which is not under Spam Control settings. This is already changed in next 1.2.1 version. You'll be able full turn off all moderation functions by disabling wpForo Spam Control in upcoming wpForo release. At the moment I'd recommend set Levels 1/1 and New User level 1.

Perfect, thank you. I think that this will make it pretty clear. Glad to hear that it will be changed. Thank you for your effort, great plugin, after all!
