I want to remove the login/log out section of the header but I cant seem to find the section to remove, I modified the footer already to better suit my needs and now I would just like to remove that as wordpress handles my login in the menu at the top of my website (SSO for the game we all play)

Do you mean top menu bar? Is so navigate to Appearance > Menus, select wpForo Navigation menu and remove login/logout menus.
