I have tried uninstalling and installing the product but still, get this horrible box instead of the forums.

Hi @erichbuhler,
This is a crashed menu panel. It has been affected and crashed by your theme CSS. You should change your theme or leave a URL to your forum, so we could find the conflict point and provide you a small CSS code to fix it.
