Hi,  I like wpforo looks much nicer than bbpress and don't need to install a bunch of plugins, awesome !  The 3 layout especially the QA is so useful. Great idea! Keep up the excellent work ! is it possible to use wishlist member to create access to different sections in forum: public, free members, paid members...?  with single sign on?  if i use bbpress then in wishlist admin i just simply need to select a board and assign a membership but not sure how to do that with wpforo?

Thanks!

Hi forumfan,

Thank you for using our plugin and for your kind words. I see only one option at this moment. Please follow this steps.

  1. Create a new Forum Access for example "Membership Access" in Settings > Forum Accesses Tab with "View Forum" accesses role.
  2. Create new Usergroup, for example "Membership Usergroup" in Forums > Usergroups admin page.
  3. Edit all forums for membership users and in Forum Permission metabox set "Membership Access" for "Membership Usergroup". This will allow all Users who are in "Membership Usergroup" access to certain forums. And set "No Accesss" to "Registered" and "Guest" usergroups. This will hide all membership forums for other users who are not in "Membership Usergroup".
  4. Then edit certain users and set "Membership Usergroup" in WordPress User Edit admin page Using Forum Usergroup option.

Hope you followed what I mean.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply.  So it is not possible to sync the forum access roles with wishlist member ( or any membership script for that matter? )  So that as soon as the user signed up/making payment... via wishlist, their account is auto created and get immediate access to the correct forum section that they are assigned to?

I hope you would consider a  solution that allows wpforo to work seamlessly with wishlist membership and maybe other popular membership scripts as well.  I will have to stick with bbpress or vanilla forum at the moment as they integrated well with wishlist but I really would like to use wpforum instead just fro the FAQ layout.

Thank so much!
