I still have the 1.9.3 version and I would like to update it to the last version, but I read that it was recommended to install the 1.9.9.2 version before updating wpForo to the 2.0 version... now you are at 2.1.5 ver, and Wordpress suggests I install this last version... However, I wonder if it could be dangerous to jump from 1.9.3 to 2.1.5 directly.

Hi, why not update MANUALLY from 1.9.3 to 1.9.9.2 and then automatically to the latest?
If you have a backup, there is no risk.

It's not required. You can update from 1.9.3 to 2.x versions without any issue.
