I have installed the "Allow Mutliple Users" plugin, but the wpforo software catches this upon registration with an upper right corner pop-up message saying the "Email address is already associated with another account."

HELP, please!

Hi @jndurand,

I'm sorry but wpForo has no chance to work with users database whose emails are not unique, there is no way to work with users whose emails are the same. You should not use wpForo registration page.

Yes, it should. If the plugin you use is created for WordPress then it should work.
