Hi, I have a question on moderation of posts. It seems that if a member is subscribed to a topic, and a new post is posted but put in moderation, that the member still gets a notification that a new post was posted but he cannot see it (of course) as it's under moderation. Is there a setting somewhere to only send new post notification messages once the post is approved? thanks!

wpForo doesn't send notifications to subscribers if a post is unapproved. Please make sure the Forum Access permissions of that user doesn't allow to view and moderate unapproved posts.
Edit the forum and check the Forum Access which is attached to that user Usergroup. Then go to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Forum Access Tab, edit that user Forum Access and make sure these permissions are disabled:
- Can approve/unapprove content
- Can view private topic
