Hi all, I can't figure out why the profile pic & avatar's image quality is so poor in wpForo. Compared to every other website that uses avatars, it's really really bad (especially on the profile pages). My site looks great until you look at the avatars that look like they're from 2004, LOL.

Is there a way to make the avatars less blurry? I've had several people request or ask how to upload a better looking profile pic, so it makes me look bad when I say I can't. It's really bringing down the look of my site as it's designed to be socially interactive.

Hello,

@sofy the site and profile pages are hidden behind a paywall. To give you an idea of what's going on, I compared my profile pages on my site and Facebook. When I use the same source image for my profile pic on my site and on Facebook, wpForo compresses it from 324kb to 8kb whereas Facebook only compresses it down to 55kb.

wpForo's level of image compression is what was used when we were on dial-up speeds. Since there isn't a setting in wpForo to change this, I was wondering if you had a fix for this until it is (hopefully) fixed in the next update.

@trey

This is managed by WordPress, and wpForo is not related to it.

You may try finding a WordPress plugin that can improve image quality.
