When someone adds a topic to a forum, I know they have the option to 'subscribe' which will give them notifications of replies. Is there a way to make this automatic?

The problem I have is that people are asking a question or starting a discussion, and then they never come back to the discussion. I have reached out to a few people and they said 'they had forgotten and thought they would get an email notification'

Is it possible to make it so that anytime someone starts a topic they automatically get emails for all replies on that topic?
