One question is what should I do to make wpforo as the main page(site) because there are 2 ways on wpforo site and I am a little bit confused about the difference. Eventually aren't they the same?

The "Turn WordPress to wpForo" option is designed for cases when you only have a forum on the website. This option disables all WordPress page and posts. Use this option only if you don't use WordPress pages and posts. If you want to set forum on the home page you should use the instruction mentioned here (using these methods, please don't set forum page as a home page, you should create another forum page for this purpose):
