ALL users get the following message: "Your user level does not have appropriate permission to view the content" instead of the forum. After I reset the user cache on the dashboard, the users can see the forum again... until the user logs out. When they log in again they get the same message and the forum is not available. This means that the forum is not available for users, end of story.

Also the profile page and the accounts page are unavailable to the user because of this.

This is a problem that recently occured.

I use the forum as a support group for a paid course. No one can acces the forum. This is an urgent problem for me. Please help!

I tried:

ALL variations of settings!

Changing the permissions for th users until they are same as admin.

Disabled potentially conflicting plugins.

Deleting and reinstalling the WPForor plugin.

Checked if it has anything to do with 'user rating'.

Changed usergroups in the forums setting.

Changed permissions in usergroups.

Turned off/on the Wpforo cache.

NONE of these things seem to make a difference. What can be the problem?

The only thing that makes a TEMPORARY difference is to clear the user chache in the WPForo plugin.

Hope you can help me with this.

Thanks!

Please turn on wpForo cache. wpForo cache has never caused such problem.

This is a cache issue or a plugin conflict. Please leave a list of all plugins you use.

Also, this could be a server side or WordPress cache issue. What hosting service do you use and do they have server side cache?

Thanks for your answer.

I have tested for plugin conflicts by turning off ALL plugins except WPForo. The issue is still there with all the plugins disabled.

The user cache in WPForo is turned on. All I did was turn it off to test if this is the issue. It is not.

My host does not offer serverside caching by default for as far as I know. OPCACHE is enabled howerer in the PHP settings.

I'm not using any caching plugins on my wordpress install.

Any specific idea where I should be looking for a solution?

A bit more indepth help would be appreciated at this point.

Thank you for your time!

@robert Yes something weird is going on 😆

Unfortunatly I can not give you admin access to the website.

If you have any suggestions for me to look at that would be very welcome.

Otherwise I don't know what to do...

Thanks!

@david_nova,

I'm really sorry, but it's just impossible to understand what's the problem. I'm 100% sure it doesn't have direct relation to wpForo. wpForo doesn't have such problem. You have some custom script or plugin which makes lots of problems. And it's probably a cache or user related plugin.

Yes, I understand. And you are right it's not the WPForo plugin directly that has an issue. I run the plugin on other sites and they work perfectly fine at the moment. I appreciate you took the time to think about this and I understand there is nothing more you can do at this point. I will try to find the problem and see if I can fix it. Have a great day and thanks again!
