Not sure if this was the case before 1.4.7 but it appears users can change their user group to "Customer" of their own volition. On my forums the Customer user group has a different permission set to registered members so this is very much an undesired permission for ordinary members to have. So too the ability to change the @ nickname which just causes a lot of queries and hassles from members who don't understand not being able to change to a nickname they desire but is already taken by another member. This permission should also be off by default for all but the admin user group.

Hi @thomastees ,

When you are logged in as an Admin, you can change the Usergroups of any member. But if you log - in as the "Registered Member", then by default, they should not be able to change their usergroup, from their own profile, unless a setting was changed on what they can and cannot do.
