Using 'Add topic' to edit a new topic AND to publish it is confusing my users

This post suggests changing the phrase "Add topic" to whatever you want, but that isn't the solution I want. "Add topic" is fine to open the editor, but a different phrase such as "Save topic" or "Publish" seems clearer than clicking "Add topic" again to post.

Most of my users are elderly and everything I can do to make it easier for them encourages engagement.

Is there any way to do this? I'm using the Astra theme, if that matters.

Hi @jeff-v23

I'm Sorry, but wpForo has only 1 phrase for Add Topic.

For the benefit of others encountering this not-at-all-helpful response, the button text could be modified by attaching a JavaScript function to the button's onClick() method that checks the current button text and if it's "Add topic", changes it to "Publish", and if it's "Publish" changes it to "Add topic".

But I'm spending my time and money to provide a free service to my community and decided it was less work to create a detailed help page.
