I'm a long term user and customer of virtually every plugin you offer, and I love the plugin. However, I am very curious whether wpforo was acquired in the last 12 months and has come under new ownership?

I only ask because it seems like there are much fewer wpforo updates these days, compared to 2022 and 2023. What are the future plans for wpforo? Are there any important changes that will occur, such as new layouts or any planned major feature changes?

Also concerning is the level of spam that is all over the forums here. Can anyone chime in and give any insights to these concerns?

Hi @novedddd,

The first versions of wpForo had 10–20 features, so we had to update this plugin very often to fix bugs and add more features. Now, wpForo is almost bug free, and it has about 200 features. It's ready for pro level usage. All most important even mid important features have been added so it's not necessary to update this plugin very often, bothering all our users.

This is a normal way of a software development. All softwares have ten times more update on the first stages of development to reach the pro level. Then you should support all users. Currently, the 30% of our time is being spent on individual supports we're being requested by users (pro support), 20% on custom addon development, 20% on the free support in our communities and 30% on the wpForo plugin development.

As @robert mentioned in his posts, the next major changes will be:

  • New Forum Theme
  • New Profile Features
  • AI Based Solutions
  • New Widgets
  • wpForo SaaS version
  • New Addons
  • Integration with more WordPress plugins.

For example, we've created wpForo integration addons for almost all Membership plugins to let people earn money using their forums:

1st - MemberPress (free/paid), it requires the following combination:

  1. MemberPress
  2. wpForo - MemberPress Integration

2nd - SureMembers (paid), it requires the following combination:

  1. SureMembers
  2. wpForo - SureMembers Integration

3rd - WooCommerce (paid), it requires the following combination:

  1. WooCommerce
  2. WooCommerce Memberships
  3. wpForo - WooCommerce Memberships Integration

4th - Paid Membership Pro (free), it requires the following combination:

  1. Paid Memberships Pro
  2. wpForo - Paid Memberships Pro Integration

5th - Groups (free), it requires the following combination:

  1. Groups
  2. wpForo - Groups Integration

@martin Adding features with major updates and more frequent minor updates are always appreciated 😀
