Please check at  https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-administrator-can-not-save-as-forum-admin/

Hello,

I assign a sub site as buddypress root site in multisite, and activated buddypress in networkly, that means I used the B method:

B. Network-wide Activation – BuddyPress root blog in Secondary Site

https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installation-in-wordpress-multisite/

and I activated wpForo Forum on the subsite, which is root site of Buddypress.

in this situation, I can not access setting page at backend,

sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

so I check the role for forum, but I can not change the registerd role to admin.

http://prntscr.com/iy4ld3

Woforo version 1.4.7

 HHVM+ Redis + Nginx/1.10.0, with php version: 5.6.33-0+deb8u1

should you need more information, please let me know

Alex

Hi @alexlii,

Could you please check, the account that you use for testing has the administrator role in your sub site?

Ok, I think this plugin affects wpForo. Please disable all plugins related to User Roles. Deactivate wpForo and activate it again. Then navigate to the Profile page and try to set your Usergroup "admin".

Hello,

Here is one screenshot to show only it is activated with role editor:

http://prntscr.com/iyve0n

the purpose of role editor activation is to show you that I do have administrator capability, actually, it is same no matter role editor is activated or not.

I am not technical background, but the problem that I think might the role matching between Wpforo and wordpress default roles. actually, I did not find "admin" role after it is activated, please check this screenshot: there is no admin role to show up:

http://prntscr.com/iyvg46

Here is a example to fix that:

http://prntscr.com/iyvhz3

that means allow Wpforo roles to match with wordpress roles or the role of other plugins,  what you think?

wpForo don't use roles. wpForo usergroup is a separate system. So please disable this plugin and try what I asked in my last post. Then you can enable this plugin back. I think this plugin conflicts with wpForo.
