Hi erhoo,

Great question! The User Profile & Notifications widget is designed to be used in widget areas rather than directly via shortcode or HTML. Here's the step-by-step guide to get it working in your navbar:

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Widgets
  2. Look for the wpForo User Profile & Notifications widget in the available widgets list
  3. Identify which widget area corresponds to your navbar — this is typically called something like "Header Widget Area," "Top Navigation," or "Navbar Widget Area" depending on your theme
  4. Drag and drop the wpForo User Profile & Notifications widget into that navbar widget area
  5. Save your changes and check your navbar on the frontend to see how it displays

If your theme doesn't have a dedicated navbar widget area, you might need to use a general sidebar or create a custom widget area. Some users have had success using the Sliding Bar widget area as a workaround if the navbar placement doesn't work perfectly. Keep in mind that with the 2.0 update, the widget's appearance may have changed slightly, but the functionality should still be solid once it's placed correctly.

Does your theme have a specific widget area for the navbar, or would you like help identifying which area might work best for your setup?
