Hi guys, I have a site and forum on Joomla with Kunena, newest version of both. I have a site already created in Wordpress, but setup a copy of buddy press. I'm going to remove buddy press because there's no members yet and install Wpforo. I want to port in the forum data from kunena to wpforo.
The main reason for this is that I'm now on a hosting platform that is WP focused and Joomla is a handful to update. I like the WpForo for it's dynamic aspects and because it looks very similar to what the members are used to with Kunena.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have ideas, please include them. All input is welcome and appreciate
I have a wordpress site on the on the same server as the kunena install and I'm trying to transfer now.
When I fill out the configuration info, I get the "OK" confirmation. When I run the final step it flips me to the error message below.
Migrate2wpForo Notice: We can't find this board on this system
Any suggestions?
Hi @tpllc,
It says, that the database of your Joomla+Kunena website is not accessible. The OK confirmation doesn't check accesses. So you should make sure the Joomla+Kunena Database username, prefix, secondary prefix, password and host are set correctly.
I think you've set incorrect prefixes, this is the most popular mistake. Please leave the database configuration screenshot and don't forget to remove database username and password from the screenshot, I just need to see how you configure table prefixes.
Here is a similar topic and mistakes and a good instruction to set them correctly: https://wpforo.com/community/migrate-to-wpforo-from-stand-alone-bulletin-boards/migrate-from-kunena/#post-20724
In case you want to say thank you !)
We'd really appreciate and be thankful if you leave a good review on plugin page. This is the best way to say thank you to this project and support team.
