- To load your customized colors please refresh forum front-end page twice.

@Robert, than you for this update incorporating some fixes to the search that were suggested. I've updated to 1.4.0 but now find the search button gives no results, nor any options, like this screengrab shows :
This is for my login or public user (not logged in) using this function.
Can you advise why this non-function is happening? The gvectors team have a login if want to have a look.
Could you please deactivate (not uninstall), delete plugin and install it again? If it doesn't please leave your server information listed in Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page.

Thank you for the quick response. Attempting to deactivate then delete the plugin advises me that it will delete the plugin data, which I cannot do with a life forum.
If it doesn't please leave your server information listed in Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page.
I've looked several times in the Dashboard->Forums area but cannot find a Dashboard admin page to leave server information. Can you please specify in more detail what you require and where it is?
After updating to 1.4.0, the avatar of the users in the forum has disappeared. I cleaned the entire cache, even tried disabling, but they did not show up.

I don't think so, a simple deactivation doesn't remove any data. i don't know what irregular you've done before. When you update wpForo it's deactivated then activated automatically and as you see nothing lost.
In dashboard > forums > dashboard admin page there is a content-box called Server Information. Please check it and let me know these data:
- Web Server .....
- PHP Version ....
- MySQL Version .....
- PHP Memory Limit ....

Your requested Server Information from this site is:
@Robert, stopping wpforo, then attempting to delete it prompts me with the following. If I say OK will it keep my existing wpforo DB & configuration settings?
Can I then reinstall the plugin without any loss of data? I believe that is what the plugin update from 1.3.1 to 1.4.0 has done already but if I have such reassurance, I can do it again. I forgot to mention, wpforo 1.3.1 had a perfect working Search button
1. Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard and click on [Delete all caches] button.
2. If it doesn't help and you can provide admin login details please send it to support[at]gvecotrs.com email address. We'll check and fix this issue.
3. Make sure you don't have old wpForo template files in active WordPress theme folder
4. If nothing helps you can deactivate delete and install it again. It doesn't delete forum data and configuration. In any case I'd also recommend database backupping before delete plugin.

@Robert, to answer your points:
1. Done. -> ** no change, search is still clobbered **
4. Done by moving the /wp-content/plugins/wpforo folder to a temp directory. Extracted the stock 1.4.0 wpforo distribution to /wp-content/plugins/wpforo . This way am assured of no data loss. -> ** no change, search is still clobbered **
3. There are no old wpforo templates in /wp-content/themes/onepress .
2. Email sent to gvectors support.
I also tested disabling all my CSS customisations, again ** no change, search is still clobbered **.
Appreciate your help in sorting out this quite important forum function.
Hi
After the update, I lost forum members. I had so far 24, now only 2.
I read the instructions, but can't really understand how to get back my "lost" forum members".
Please advice
Cheers

Seems to work in my forums. Enable DEBUG.LOG and check for fatal errors. Seems like an error to me.
Good call Anonymous20, thank you. As advised, I enabled DEBUG.LOG, did a test search finding it failed with memory exhaustion. This was with WP_MEMORY_LIMIT set to 128M:
[09-Oct-2017 11:22:13 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /home/egpu/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1751
[09-Oct-2017 11:22:13 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /home/egpu/public_html/wp-includes/load.php on line 677
Increasing WP_MEMORY_LIMIT to 512MB eradicated one of these errors. The second remains and search is still broken:
[09-Oct-2017 11:28:40 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /home/egpu/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 2426
@Robert, can you advise/investigate why DB searches are now failing in 1.4.0 with memory exhaustion errors but had no issues under 1.3.1?
