Hello,

currently I am trying to migrate from smf to wpForo.

I already found a similar topic here and followed the recommendations: deactivation of forum and go2wpForo plugins and reactivation afterwards.

The tool started its work, I could see the status bar displaying 1% all the time.

Before working, I had these components:

Components - SMF - wpForo

Users - 15515 - 5

Forums - 291 - 0

Topics - 30010 - 0

Posts - 393675 - 0

After the work was done, only one component has changed:

Forums - 291 - 284

It doesn't matter how many times I re-try, only the 284 forums will be processed.

I also deactivated all the others plugins... the same result.

Has anyone an idea of what to do???

Are there any logs in order to get possible errors?

Thx!

Hi @negusnegesti,

Please note we don’t support the result of migration. This kind of large work is out of our support. In case the migration result of this tool doesn’t satisfy you, you should contact professional forum migration services for custom migration. We only recommend gConverter or ProfProjects services for such projects. They have already done hundreds of forum to wpForo migration projects with the best result.

We may suggest you check the errors, more info in this article:

https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-set-up-wordpress-error-logs-in-wp-config/#:~:text=Reviewing%20Your%20WordPress%20Error%20Logs&text=Once%20connected%2C%20go%20to%20%2Fwp,and%20notices%20that%20were%20logged.

Also maybe your memory limit is not enough. You can increase it in wp-config.php. You can ask your hosting provider to increase your memory limit for you.

I may also suggest you do the migration on the localhost then move the result on your server.

IMPORTANT: You should backup your DB tables using the WordPress Database Backup Plugin before doing any changes.
