Never mind. WPForo simply causes too many problems, even when it's the only activated plugin. Deleted.

Solved this by removing WPForo and using a different forum plugin. And yes, I deactivated all other plugins first, and WPForo still wouldn't let me ed...

I fixed this. Had to convert the WPforo widget to a legacy widget for publish to work. Don't know if that's a bug...
