My home page, which does not have wpforo, is scored qwell with google page speed, 99-100 on desktop, but the forum page with the wpforo is appalling!

It is excluded from all cache plug ins and optimisers, but i need something to improve its functionality, a score that low just isn't good.

Is there some plugin that can optimize the forum properly?

Take a look at the gtmetrix score, it tells you what the issues are, how can i fix these and make the forum faster? https://gtmetrix.com/reports/percysgrowroom.com/EilfkbCe

I see that you are on a LiteSpeed web server. If so, then  drop W3TC cache (that only trouble creates) and use

https://wordpress.org/plugins/litespeed-cache/

That plugin can also OPTIMIZE everything, compress, join css, js, you name it. CDN, http2 push ...

Awesome, I'll try this, thanks for the input mate, hopefully it works, do you know of any good walk though guides for setting it up correctly?

Well, it is a bit complicated if you go on Advanced settings. I have no guide for it, just start simple (no optimizations) and see if it works right for you. Then enable one by one the optimizations.

For example the js JOIN breaks some plugins for me. But yours maybe different. Also you can exclude whatever page/plugin doesn't work right.

btw: i think wpForo must at some point become compatible with some cache plugins. It is not that hard.

I'm sure not if any development work is being done any more!

No major changes for a while, I've seen loads of people as for notifications, but we just keep getting told, it's in a future update.

It would be nice to see some of the suggestions the users have made put into action

Looking at yours in comparison to mine, a large amount of your load time issues can be attributed to loading webfonts and your ads (amazon specifically).

When I compare your score to mine, which is nothing but a forum with a header (wpForo w/Astra theme) with no optimization plugins, mine outperforms yours in cases of deferring JS(0/100), using image sprites (60/100), expires headers (0/100), reducing DNS lookups (15/95), and reducing DOM elements (45/100).

While some of this could be improved upon by wpForo (image scaling), some things could only be fixed by using a cleaner WordPress theme and adding optimization plugins.
