I know, that growth is connected with server resources, memory, VPS, etc. and use of many images/videos are extra drain.

Question: are there any WPForo user with 10' or 100' of thousands members/users and how is WPforo capable to handle volume of member posts?

An active SMF forum, 10+ years, maintains 65 ml posts with 3.5 ml members. Could this theoretical be possible using Wordpress with WPForo? (ml is millions)

WPForo is far more appealing in design, and pages add-on, due to WP based.  I appreciate any stats reports.

Why do you want to move the forum to WordPress, specifically using wpForo? Are there any shortcomings with the SMF software?

I have a forum that uses wpForo. One of the sub-forums in that forum has over 200,000 posts, and when you access that sub-forum, wpForo becomes slow because it creates 13,000 pages with each page having around 15 posts. This causes issues with the browser, and the forum will open very slowly or the browser may even encounter errors. I have already expressed my complaint to the wpForo developer here https://wpforo.com/community/general-forums-bug-reports/wpforo-slows-down-the-browser-because-it-generates-a-large-amount-of-html-page-code/

@adisaputro What is your url so we can see your issue?

As for performance, you (both) seem to forget the wpForo is a PLUGIN for Wordpress, and as such it has Wordpress limitations.

But nothing a powerfull and tuned server can't solve.

@dimalifragis This is one of the sub-forums in my forum.

As you can see, it has 68 pages and each page is set to have 15 post titles. If you open it using Chrome or Firefox and do an inspect element, you will see that wpForo generates a lot of HTML code that links to pages 1 to 68. Now, imagine in my other sub-forum, I have more than 13,000 pages. wpForo will generate 13,000 lines of HTML code, which can cause browser errors because there are too many HTML codes to render.

@dimalifragis That's what I mentioned too. A friend runs a Soc Media platform with over 40 plugins, 600,000 members, with video etc, via AWS, dedicated server, and no slowdown.  So, there are always several components to be up-to-date, and if not, then loss of a whole website can be.

wpforo.com is large enough, also check

https://percysgrowroom.com/forum/

fully loaded with plugins and tones of posts.

@dimalifragis thanks, that why I landed here and Macky helped me already too. The WP platform offers multiple options to add and redesign with short ciodes, which SMF does not have.

thanks, all is cool

I don't run a big forum with lots of traffic, but i can tell you (from my job) that wpForo is well optimized and also has an internal caching that works well.

@adisaputro I mentioned the SMF forum with 65 ml, because its over 10 years old. not mine.

I asked to hear of other user experience with larger numbers in WPforo. If you scale a server from VPS to dedicated, and bandwidth and memory, the are growing with the membership. Thanks for your details.
