If you know of any way to implement this type of feature in WordPress without a plugin, I'd be happy to hear that. Or maybe this would be a good feature request for wpForo. 🙂

Could you please check if this option is set "Yes" in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Features admin page?

The 1.44/1.45 update seems to have fixed it.
