I'm sorry but wpForo can be used on such WP installations. WordPress site and home URL should be the same. Please deactivate wpForo and wait for future releases. We'll add this in our-to-do list.

It has been working up till now however! Is there any advice you can give me so that I can access my forum data? can I just copy beta 6 code over again until you bring out a new version?

wpForo 1.x versions comes with totally different perma-structure. There is no way to use 1.x on your case yet. Please deactivate wpForo, delete files (not uninstall). Then Go to Add new plugins > Upload plugin and upload Beta-6. We'll work on your case and try to add compatibility with non-regular WP installations like yours. You can download Beta-6 here:
