Hello,
thanks for reading this! We are looking for a wordpress forum plugin where we can have different forums that are restricted to specific users. So one forum should be available to all registered users, while other forums should be available only to specific ones. Can users be in multiple groups and in multiple forums?
At the moment we use bbpress and buddypress but since most users use the forum on their phones we have tons of usuability issues.

Thanks for your help,

Moni

Hi @monimair,

wpForo has all that options.

Please check these docs for more info:

@chris Sorry to bother you again. I just realized your info is the the same I read thouroughly before I posted my question. My permissions don't differentiate between standard users and guests or admins. I would need different permissions (forum access) to different people who would all be standard users. Here I read that this can only be done by creating usergroups https://wpforo.com/community/how-to-and-troubleshooting-2/users-in-multiple-groups-possible/ and then there is the issue with the 'adding a person to multiple group'.
So do I understand correctly that in these situations an additional usergroup would have to be created?
Thanks,
moni

@monimair,
wpForo has secondary usergroups function so you can set 2,3... usergroups as secondary for the users.
Yes, you will need to create new usergroups if you want to give different access to your users to the forums.

@Chris Thanks so much for clarifying and the links. Does it also work in German?

@monimair WordPress as a whole supports internationalization (multiple language support), and so does wpForo.
