Trying to add a shoutbox to my home page via the "Simple Ajax Chat" plugin. I have had 3+ freelancers attempt to insert the shortcode into wpForo with no success as it displays error messages when we attempt to do so.

Please explain how to add shortcodes, thank you.

Hi @avorai,

This is not related to wpForo, the shortcode isn't showing as a shortcode that means that it's working, but there is another issue in your website causes those errors.

Contact that Ajax chat plugin support, and also check your Error logs.

It’s definitely related. This problem doesn’t occur on any other theme or plugin. Ajax is working perfectly, just not on WpForo. Please investigate

@avorai

@avorai So, SAC.PHP is crashing and it is wpForo the cause? Sorry, i don't get it.

Apparently SAC.PHP is the code for the chat.

Please specify what do you mean, saying "into wpForo"? Where exactly you are trying to insert the shortcode?

If you're trying to insert the shortcode in forum posts, then you should make sure the "Enable WordPress Shortcodes in Post Content" option is enabled in Forums > Settings > Features Tab.

@robert That setting is enabled. We are trying to add the shortcode onto the home page as the plugin is a shoutbox

@robert wpForo is what converts my homepage into a forum.

That forum homepage needs the shortcode. Without wpForo it wouldn’t be a forum

@avorai,

Again, I don't see any relation of this issue with wpForo. Please disable "Turn WordPress to wpForo" option if you enabled it. That option is located in Forums > Settings > general Tab.

If you don't use it, then disable wpForo plugin and check your shortcode. Make sure it works without wpForo.
