Hey Guys,
this is a really cool update.
But I noticed that I can't change the usergroup of the users anymore.
I'm not sure if this is caused by the update or maybe it is only a coincidence.
Can anyone checks this too? Or does anyone have a hint for me?
Also please explain the issue and let us know, do you see the "Usergroup" dropdown menu in User Profile page? Also please edit your usergroup in Dashboard > Forums > Usergroups admin page and let us know if you have "Dashboard - Manage Usergroups" permission.
We've tested on many sites and it works fine. It seems you have some issue with your Role in WordPress. You're not a real administrator and you don't have WordPress administrator Role or something like that. Current wpForo version only allows real admins (WP Admin Role and wpForo Admin Usergroup) to change Usergroups.
P.S. If you have wpForo User Custom Fields addon, please let us know too.
Thanks for your answer and sorry for posting it in the wrong thread.
Problem:
We use different usergroups to distinguish between the members and they roles/responsibilities (it's a website and forum for Multigaming).
If I want to change the usergroup of a registered user, I click on Dashboard -> Users -> "User XY" Edit -> scrolling down to "Forum Profile Fields - wpForo" and choose in the drop down menu the usergroup and click on "update Profile" (or "save changes"? My dashboard is in German, maybe I translated it not correctly now).
The problem is, that the changing will not assumed anymore. I click on save, the page reloads and the notice appears "Profile updated" but it is still the old usergroup.
I'm the administrator of the website and of the forum. So I have the admin role in both.
As you wrote I checked the permissions of the usergroup and "Dashboard - Manage Usergroups" is enabled.
We don't use any wpForo Add-Ons yet, so we don't have "wpForo User Custom Fields".
It is really strange because it worked fine two or three days ago. So I have aspersed the update first.
Is there any other settings which could deactivate the permission to change the usergroups?
Ok, thank you for letting us know. We'll fix this in next version. As an alternative you can change Forum member Usergroup in the member profile > Account page on forum front-end. Or just navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Members admin page, find the member, click on "edit profile" link and edit Usergroup.
I'm sorry for the late response.
I did it as you described it:
I can change the usergroups via the frontend (the forum profil of the user).
It can't be changed via the backend (wordpress dashboard, as I have done it before).
This means, is that a bug which we found?
Then we will wait until the next update. As long as it is possible to change the groups via the frontend, we don't have any urgend problems with it.
Thanks for your help! 🙂
