Is there a way to change this phrasing which is harsh and hurtful and could invite retaliation?  Is there a way to just prevent someone from posting without sending a notice at all?

Hi @jeanne,

All wpForo phrases are located in Dashboard > Forums > Phrases admin page. Just edit each phrase and change as you like.

If you can’t find some phrase at first navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page, click on [Rebuild phrases], then try to search the phrase again.
