Maybe it has to do when a post contains a Youtube or an Image INLINE.

Maybe also when editing, make the rest of the page "blured/faded", so the edit space becomes evident.
Because right now .... you must guess where to edit. The edit functions needs some work.
I have the same issue. It seems to only affect posts with embedded content of any type in them. Instead of jumping to the first line on the post to be edited it will jump to some arbitrary point down the page causing the editor to have to scroll up to get the post to be edited.
Interestingly, if one cancels the edit and then click the edit button again one gets expected behaviour, i.e. jumps to first line of the post to be edited.
