I've been distracted with other elements of my site and am revisiting the sidebar as per the earlier posts. It's weird how the wpforo sidebar doesn't have any controllable characteristics. Can I not set the sidebar to a width of say 400px?

Hi, don't use wpForo sidebar but use your Theme's sidebar and use Widgets Options or Widget Context plugins to control them.
