Go to wp-content\plugins\wpforo\wpf-includes open function.php and delete the below code
$text = preg_replace('#(?:{\w+})?:[^/.\s]+:#iu', '', $text);

And i check in comparing all the files between my test website and the main website and there is no other differences in the files. So I think you have change another third thing
Open wp-content/plugins/wpforo-emoticons/wpforosmile.php find
wpforo_strip_shortcodes
and dellete it.
Now that works fine now
