Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a strange issue with CapCut videos I embed on my WordPress website. Whenever I use the embed code provided by CapCut, the video plays fine on desktop browsers, but on mobile devices, it either doesn’t load at all or gives a “Video format not supported” error.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Tested different WordPress themes (both default and custom).
  • Disabled all plugins to rule out conflicts.
  • Ensured that my site is running over HTTPS and the video URLs are HTTPS as well.

The issue persists across different mobile browsers, including Chrome and Safari. Interestingly, when I upload the same video directly to WordPress or embed it from YouTube, it works fine everywhere.

Has anyone else faced this problem? Could it be something related to MIME types, server configuration, or maybe CapCut's embed code itself? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi

The issue may be related to the CapCut's embed code. Please contact the developers and ask them to check the code.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I suspected that the issue might be with CapCut’s embed code, but I wanted to check if anyone else had faced a similar problem or found a workaround. Since other video embeds (like YouTube) work fine, it seems like CapCut player might have compatibility issues with mobile browsers.

I’ll try reaching out to CapCut’s support team, but in the meantime, do you have any insights on debugging iframe-based embeds in WordPress? Maybe there’s a way to override certain attributes or force a different MIME type via .htaccess or JavaScript?

Would appreciate any further suggestions!

Thanks.
