When I try to add forums or categories, whenever I save I get a message saying the forum/category has been saved, but nothing shows - either backend or front-end.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no luck.

Hi @leeann,

This doesn't have any relation to 1.6.2 version. Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Debug > Tables and fix database errors, then navigate to Errors & Issues Tab and let us know what errors you see.

I only mentioned the version as it's a clean install and wasn't sure whether it'd be relevant 🙂

Navigating to Tables shows no database errors to fix and gives no options to fix anything. Errors & Issues Tab shows No Issues Found and an empty error log.

Thanks!

Ok, then you do something wrong. Please leave some screenshot of your forums page in dashboard. The first screenshot only shows message.

Also, please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard and click on Delete All Caches button.

Other than adding a category by filling in the details and hitting save, then receiving a "saved" message I've not touched anything 🙂

The screenshot showed the only thing that was there. I'll add a full screenshot showing the rest of the empty space after adding a category.

Ok, please contact us via support@gvectors.com email address and provide admin login details to allow us find the reason and fix it on your website. This is not a general issue, this is a site specific issue so we need access to your website.

Thank you. i don't see any issue. All your forums are accessible and I see those. I clicked on Delete Cache button in Admin Top bar:

This is so weird. I've checked it from two computers, my phone and a tablet.

Thanks for your help! I'll just go and rock in a corner somewhere!

Hi @leeann .  If I may suggest, clear your device's cookies (your phone and your tablet - they have hard caches, so you have to delete cookies so you see the changes.

Clearing cache is in 3 domain areas:

1) Clearing or debugging (on your Server - Webhosting - while you are logged in to your wpForo Admin

2) When you press Control F5 twice, you are getting the latest version of the changes you may have made fresh from your Website

3) But meanwhile cookies are adding up on either your laptop or your mobile phone or your tablet. Each site we visit leaves cookies behind in "temporary internet files" so that next time we visit those same sites, we won't have to wait too long (average load time).

Best to also view your site, while testing, from an incognito window, or another browser too.  🙂

Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless you!

🙂
