Something interesting is going on with my site and there some things not displaying.  I'm not sure if it is due to a failed installation or plugin conflicts.

1. Where the forum menu should be there is just a blank box.

2. When writing a post or reply the visual editor is enabled but it doesn't show up.

3. The Home icon does not show up for the breadcrumbs.

4. I'm not able to add photos (as admin) where regular users are not having that problem.

I'm guessing these are all related to each other. Screenshot attached of the top of the main forum page.

I just tried switching from Classic template to the 2022 template and it's the same.  Additionally, "Quote, edit, delete" icons are also missing.

Lastly, there are no bookmark, share, or link icons.

I fixed the breadcrumb issues and the other icons not displaying by enabling the Font-Awesome library.  For some reason that was disabled and that is where those icons are sourced from.

Might be good to add a warning to that field saying if you disable this make sure you can source font-awesome library in another way.

I also fixed the issue with the visual editor. There is a checkbox on the user profile that disables visual editor.

I want to thank ChatGPT for helping me find all the answers to these questions!

and... the menu wasn't appearing because it was not set to...

Assign a Menu in WordPress

wpForo uses WordPress menus. If the menu is missing:

  • Go to Appearance > Menus.
  • Look for a menu named “wpForo Menu” (or create a new one).
  • Assign it to the wpForo Navigation location.
