Hi @webzucker,
This is an old issue and it doesn't have any relation to current issue. The current problem is the missing of reset password URL in email. This problem is just fixed. We're releasing wpForo 1.4.9 version in a few minutes. Please update wpForo once you got update notification in Dashboard > Plugins admin page.
