Hi guys, I am just wondering what happens when I press the "Soft FLush Permalinks" and " Hard Flush Permalinks"
Will this remove all links from forum posts? My forum is 5 years old now, I have a lot of posts with links that no doubt do not work any more.
Broken links checkers do not work on the forum as far as I am aware, so I am kind of hoping these buttons will help me out on that lol.
The permalinks are for the Wordpress urls and have nothing to do with the body of topics/posts.
Like the Wordpress Permalinks Save option.

@percysgrowroom Yes, Xenu is what i use for that. Just be sure you set a low connection for the spider, like 2 connections per time, so it will not bring your site down. And be prepared to WAIT. At the end SAVE the report and then manually (within the report html) edit/delete what you want.
@dimalifragis OK, so this is something I download onto my desktop, not a wordpress plugin?
And it is essentially going to go through every single page of my site to find broken links?
That seems like it would take forever lol. But still worth the wait to fix them 🙂
Any specific setting I should use other than the one you have mentioned?
@percysgrowroom Yes, a windows program. Not related to Wordpress. And yes, it scans your WHOLE site. There no other way to do that, is it?
You many increase the rate of connections to 4 or maybe 6 max.

@percysgrowroom Xenu will also check non-forum links (on your pages/ blog posts if any) and that is also a good thing.
@dimalifragis hmmmm, I got a lot of Timeouts lol. I assume I should bring it down and do 4 parallel threads to reduce the server load?

Took over three hours, found over 80k links, not many broken ones in comparison but its gonna take me a day or so to get rid of them lol.
