The buttons were fine and no changes were made, but suddenly when you click them it just gets stuck with the "working" animation and nothing else happens.
I haven't added / taken away any plugins or made changes to the website. It just stopped working

The TinyMCE editor JS file is not loaded on your website. You've installed some plugin which blocked this JS file. This also can be caused by checking the "Disable visual editor" option for users in Dashboard > Users > Your Profile admin page. But in most cases this is a plugin conflict. Please disable all plugins, delete all caches and check it again.
I see other plugins are also blocked, for example you have a JS error maker plugin called "front-end-pm", this plugin JS file is blocked too and it generates lots of errors.
If you have optimizer / minifyer / compresser or caching lugins please delete/reset those cache and disable for forum page.
