Hi,

I use MemberPress for user registrations, and I created a forum user group associated to a specific membership role.
Although automatic synchronization is active, it seems that only new members, registered after the forum installation, are included in the usergroup I set up. All the previous subscribers are still in the default registered group.

How can I fix this problem? I want to be sure that sync works both for new subscribers and old ones, but also for those who won't renew the subscription.

Thank you,

A.

Hi @alice79b,

Please check the user Role <> Usergroup relations in the Forums > Usergroups admin page, make sure each usergroup has its specific user role, then click the [Synchronize] button under the usergroup list.

Then delete all caches in Forums > Dashboard admin page.

@robert thank you for the reply.
At the end I think it was a problem of double roles. I mean, for some members I had more than one role, and the registered one kept all the members in that usergroup.
I've tried deleting the second role, and in this way it seems to work, but there's still something weird.
In some usergroup I see the wrong number of members.
For example Admin group counts 3 members while there are only 2 admins.
In the registered group I should have no members, but it counts 5 members. If I enter into the usergroup the list is empty in fact.

What's the problem here?
And what can I do if I need double roles for some kind of users?

Thanks in advance,

A.

Hi @alice79b,

In wpForo you can set a secondary Usergroup for the User, to do that go to Dashboard > Forums > Usergroups, edit the Usergroup and Check "Can be also used as Secondary Usergroup" option, then go to Dashboard > Users > Profile, open the User's profile and set the Secondary Usergroups for that User in "Forum Profile Fields - wpForo > Forum - Secondary Usergroups" field.

@chris I see, but secondary usergroup is no authomatic, isnt'it?

With memberships and thousands of members it's pretty difficult to set them individually, especially being there to deactivate the access each time the membership expires.

@chris Anyway, I don't understand why I still see 5 member under Registered Usergroup even if I don't have any member with that role at the moment. In fact, if I enter into the Registered Usergroup page the member list is empty.

The same for Administrator Usergroup. I see 3 members in Usergroup page, but if I enter into Administrator Usergroup page I see only 2 members, that is the real number of Administrators at the moment.

What can be the issue?

@alice79b,

Try to do these steps`

  1. Go to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard and Press "Delete All Caches Button",
  2. Go to Dashboard > Forums > Usergroups and press "Synchronize" button

If the above steps won't help, we will need you to Export "prefix_wpforo_profiles" Table and attach it here, we will need to check it.

@chris Hi, the steps above didn't solve the problem. But going to that table I see there are a few users that don't exist anymore in the users list and members list.

@alice79b,

Please provide the prefix_wpforo_profiles Table.
