Hi all

I need some hand holding.

My forums are currently on version 1.7.0

Should I look to update to the latest version?

I'm terrified of breaking the forums in case the update fails?!

It looks good to go and a message below the update reads:

"Compatibility with WordPress 5.4: 100% (according to its author) "

Shall I just click the update and go for it?

Anything I can/should do first?

Also, can I jump from 1.7.0 to 1.7.2?

Why not create a dev / staging copy of your website using Duplicator plugin in some subderecotry or sub-domain then test the update? It should work fine, thousands of people already updated. But for any site specific issue you can backup the database or use the dev / staging duplicated website to check all.

And, please remember. After each update you should delete all kind of caches, purge CDN, reset optimizer caches and press Ctrl+F5 on forum front-end to reset browser cache.

Thanks @robert

I really like the idea of a dev/staging copy

The site/forums are hosted by a third party company. I may ask them to assist.

Thanks again.
