wpForo is programmed to send email messages corresponding to users who subscribe to the forum rss feed.
Sending these email messages is causing the forum to slow down when a new topic or reply is posted.
I would like to know how to turn off the sending of these email messages.

We don't follow you well.
What do you mean saying: "who subscribe to the forum rss feed."?
If you want to disable all subscription buttons, just edit each Forum Access and uncheck the "Can subscribe" checkbox.
However in this case the subscribed users will still get the notifications. If you want to prevent the sending of the notification to subscribed users let us know. We'll provide some coding solution.
