In 2026 (but actually, many years ago, since users started visiting sites on mobile, especially Facebook), the key to a forum, in my opinion, is ease of navigation.All forums, however, are pretty much stuck in the same space as they were 20 years ago.On mobile (I think 90% of users now visit sites on mobile), wpForo is very chaotic, and in my opinion, only the essentials should remain. Here's a list: Home Page: - Section image to delete (or disable for mobile)- The latest discussions under categories only create chaos; if a user is interested, they can open the category and read them. Category: - Category description: remove or add to the discussions; Discussion: - Simplify the editor as much as possible- The "Title" field when replying is unnecessary- Forum Jump: delete it, since no one uses it anyway- The section summarizing posts, users, reactions, etc. is very nice, but I'd also move this to the bottom and not the top.- RSS button: does anyone use RSS feeds for individual threads? And then, in my opinion, it should also have all the mods included at a reasonable price to encourage users who, for example, want to switch to xenforo. PSI want to clarify that my criticisms are only constructive because I consider wpForo the best forum plugin for WP.

Hi @plaka37, Every single AI feature in wpForo 3.0 is optional and fully controllable. So you can disable all AI features and only keep enabled the ones you want. You can set limits of usage per day. And as I mentioned above wpForo will reduce AI usage with smart cache, AI model quality and other functions explained here: You see each single credit usage in your dashboard in AI Logs tab:   I recommend you contact the team who responsible for business part via support[at]gvectors.com email address, they may have discounts per country. I do know that in some countries dollar is very much expensive. I'm not the responsive of prices and I completely understand that costs feel different depending on where you live, and I respect that perspective. However, on the other hand it's worth noting that the US dollar has actually lost a significant portion of its purchasing power over the past few years, what cost $1 just a few years ago now costs nearly $2 in the world. Today the dollar is very weak in the world, it has its 50% value.

I have maintained the forum system on my website for 12 years, but no one has used it for about 5-6 years, since our community moved to Discord. Honestly, I have kept the forums for so long, because they are part of the beginning of my community, and because I'm a strong defender of forums: there is nothing today, not even Discord, that comes close to it in functionality... but the times dictate. With a lot of pain, and in order to lighten my website, I have decided to eliminate the forums. Comment that they started with the SimplePress plugin, and then migrated to a hybrid solution with phpBB and ended up with wpForo, which I have to say currently works phenomenally. It's fast, very fast, and intuitive. But, at least in my case, there is no chance that people in my community will use the forums again. The uninstall process is simple: without deactivating the plugin, you click the "Uninstall" button, and, from what I have read, this deletes all the files and tables. If I didn't delete them, I could do it without problems from phpMyAdmin. My biggest concern is the links to the almost 9900 topics on the forum. So, my doubts are 3: 1. Is there an easy way to create redirects to prevent Google from penalizing me for these disappearing links? For these types of issues I use the "Redirection" plugin. 2. Besides redirects, should I keep anything else in mind? 3. There were quite a few users (editors of my web, especially) who managed their avatars through wpForo, so I guess I'll have to find another way to do it. Thanks a lot!

@fawp yeap, some communication would be great. But i believe gvectors is not a big company and they try to their best. If you participate in other Wordpres plugins, ones that have over 1mil installations, you will see what poor support is given. It is true that 3-4 years back, the support here was much much better. Still wpForo is years ahead from other forum plugins and i think we must wait a bit.... That is my personal opinion, it maybe be wrong, still i.m just trying to help all i can.

@plop6901 Do be honest nobody knows for sure what happens with wpForo and OBJECT caching. We do only know for sure for PAGE caching plugins and that is a no-go. If you can exclude wpForo pages from Redis, it would be safe. If not, just try and have a backup. I had tried Redis a few years back and i saw some strange issues to my admin of forums, so i disabled it. But years have passed, maybe thing are better now.

Do you have an ETA on when you are starting to work on it? Or any idea of the price when its available? I have heard this for many years now, and still no app. It would be game changing to have the forum more mobile friendly. Only an app will do that. Make it happen 🙂 This was written in 2021!! 2 years ago! Will the app ever happen?

Many of my users have said the site is OK on mobile, but it could be better. If wpforo is going to be at all anyway competitive with other forum software, we need a mobile app!!! Or, at the very least we need to be able to get onto tapatalk, but we know that's not going to happen. I have seen people ask for mobile app many times over the 5 years I have been using this software, its shocking we still don't have one. All of the things mentioned above in regard to updates doesn't really do anything.... there are no major changes there when it comes to user experience. What we need is a mobile app. Nothing else will do. I have been using this software with many add ons for many years. My licence have expired now, and I need to renew. But I really don't see the point at this stage, there is nothing new being offered that is worth the upgrades..... Ill say again.... WE NEED A MOBILE APP!!!

@cotner : What you have done is what I would like and it is a regret for me to have switched from phpbb (where the updates have tired me after more than almost 20 years of use...) not being able to have forums different from categories. I like the "extented" display for categories and "threaded" for forums because it gives less detail for categories and a little more for forums. I hope this can be done one day without having to use your tip. What happens when updating wpforo, do you have to re-transfer the files added to your theme? Can you elaborate a little on how you set this up?

@blackraz Are you kidding me, do you not understand what I wrote or are you refusing to go deeper in the subject? I did NOT ask how to translate the WPForo language files. Again: I translated everything years ago. It ran smoothly for at least more than two years. Then I set up a second board, the only thing I changed in a running system, maybe coincidentally or causal, but the only change to the running system. Since, as I documented on the screenshots attached, single, obviously random words that had already been translated now show up untranslated. Do you get the problem now? Yours, Bernd @Robert

@blackraz Thanks for caring. But why should I change the language? The language of this forum is German, and the problem ist that, although it was shown correct for years and was translated to German, single words are suddenly presented in English. It's not only here, but also here, for example (next screenshot). "Sticky" and "close" is English, the rest is still correct translated – as the other have been for at least two years. I did not change anything but installing a new board. Yours, Bernd

I removed the cache plugin. Would Cloudflare also be an issue? Still not working. I contacted the host Cloudways, and they said nothing wrong with the server or the app and ran all checks. Also, if it said this during installation, I didn't see it. Was it in reading something like this, "WARNING NO CACHING for wpforo? I guess I was assuming it would be like it was years ago when we used it as a plug-and-play forum and didn't look for that. I am not stupid or a slow learner. Not sure what is causing all the problems, and like I said, we used this years ago, and it was easy breezy. I can set up another server and set up the WP app with no cache, no Cloudflare, or anything to start out and see what needs to be removed to make it work. It's just that I am as busy as a bug in a chicken coop and doing all the extra work is not a joy in a situation like this.

This is a new feature request, but, first off, I want to say that I love the wpForo plugin. I've been using it for over 5 years now and I renew my annual subscription to 8 of the add-on plugins year after year. I recognize that this topic might by tricky from a technical perspective, but from a user perspective it's weird that wpForo doesn't have this because pretty much any site that I use to participate in discussions nowadays can do this. The feature that I'd like to have is auto-complete for user mentions. I know that I can put @username manually, but doing that feels like I'm working with an application from 10 years ago. As a user, I expect to type @, then start typing a username, and it shows me the options available based on what I typed. On this previous post (click here), @robert said that it's not possible to do this because of limitations in the WordPress TinyMCE editor, but I'm wondering if maybe there might be a way to use this TinyMCU plugin to accomplish it (I'm not that technical so I'm not really sure): I would totally add a 9th add-on plugin to my list of wpForo add-on plugins to get this feature.

It actually look like non of it really migrated over. It's not active. Is there anything I can do? It's forwarding to an old url we used years ago when we used wpforo. Looks like some settings remained in our database from years ago. I am sure of it. Where are the settings for the display pages?

@realact hi mate, thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. I know the 1-star review may come across as harsh, but for me this frustration has been building up for a long time. It's not just something I wrote in a spontaneous rage. I find it super frustrating to get help here. They even now try to discredit me as if I'm spamming them when all I do is try to get things to work optimally. It's not like I WANT to hang around here. I just wish things would work out of the box, but I am experiencing so many issues, and I find the software to be complicated to use and navigate. I am not new to running forums. Been running both PhpBB and Invision board forums for years, but never experienced issues like this. Anyways, in WP Rocket I have excluded the forum like this: /forum/(.*)/forums/(.*)/community/(.*)/participant/(.*)/sign-up/(.*)/sign-in/(.*)/change-password/(.*) In Cloudflare I use page rules to exclude the same as above. So I'm not sure why they keep using the caching thing against me. Maybe it's not necessarily me or my site that is the problem. Maybe wpforo needs to be optimised. It could very well be the case that wpforo is mostly used by smaller blog sites whilst bigger sites opt for stand alone forums like Invision board, but I wish I had knew that before I committed to this software. Now it's kind of hard to make the change. Anyways, the support here keeps painting this picture that my cache approach is something completely alien, but I would argue it is not. Page caching + Cloudflare is a VERY common setup. And Redis does a completely different thing as it's caching the database. So it's not cache on cache. They all serve their purpose and are setup to do their own unique thing. It works well for me and has done for many years. I even mailed the guys at WP Rocket to ask them if my setup is weird, and their response was... "Romain from WP Rocket here. Thanks for contacting the support. It is a common configuration bu it has to be well-configured 😉For Redis, WP Rocket hasn't any interaction with this layer and this is the most popular plugin to manage that cache: Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'm happy to help 🙂" That is the kind of service I expect really when I ask for help or clarification. It's not what I'm getting here. I feel like I'm just in the way and that I should just give up asking questions. They don't really work to help solve the problem. They just argue against me. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way around here, but that is my experience and that's what I base my review on. Cheers and thanks again mate.
