I'm confused too. Why is it needed "reply" button on the first topic.
Reddit style is the best threaded layout.
All the replies made by "Leave a reply" editor should be replies of the original post and please make it a smaller than the first one like the other community sites.

This is already under consideration. We'll add an option to disable the first post reply button in next version, but the reply form relocation will come later.

Two more things should be changed.
Fisrt, there should be replies counts under the main topic.
Second, there should be hierarchical order(nesting level) between main topic and replies.

This layout is only showed when I leave a reply through "Reply button" under the post. This is perfect layout I think. There is underline between main topic and replies so that it shows how many replies are there under the main topic. In addition, there's also a hierarchy(nesting level) between the main topic and the reply which is a little skewed to the right.

I'm sorry but the first level of replies will not be nested. They'll be with the same level of the first post. As you can see the topic is not one thread, in topic can be created many threads so the line with the number of Replies is not one, it comes under each first level of posts, this is not the total count of the topic, this is current sub-thread count and it allows collapse all replies of this sub-thread. These is very close to Blog Article comments, where you can see many parent comments with replies. So the topic is a group of sub-threads. Even this topic pagination is based on number of parent (first level) post or simple by number of sub-threads.
The things you're mentioning is close to a bit different layout, something like Reddit. The threaded layout of wpForo is not the identical Reddit, it's different.
I see. Do you have any plan to add “community layout” like reddit style?
I think there are a lot of demand for this layout style out there:)
I'm sorry but we have no plans yet. We'll improve the threaded layout and add more options in future for sure. This are not the final functions and features of this layout.
