Automatic approval of posts only work once and after that, I had to go back to manually approve all posts even after changing the settings to automatic approval and checking to make sure that the spam control was also disabled, I don't know what may still be wrong.

Go to Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Antispam Tab and check "New Registered User" Field
Go to Dashboard > Forums > Usergroup and check the needed usergroups "Front - Can pass moderation" checkbox, if this option is enabled, all the user of that usergroup, can create topics and post, passing moderation.
@chris, thanks it works but will it also work for comments also?
While that checkbox is activated, all users in that usergroup will pass moderation, doesn't matter where it is.
