Hello, is there any way possible to generate Google's new DiscussionForumPosting structured data via WPForo? See here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/discussion-forum

Is this possible within the SEO module (or via some other way)? If not, is there a workaround?

Hi,

wpForo comes with built-in powerful forum SEO features. Please find out more info here: https://wpforo.com/docs/wpforo-v2/settings/wpforo-seo/

Thank you but that doesn't address my question. There is a new DiscussionForumPosting structured data that Google released a few months ago. This is what they are saying Forums need to use now.

It looks like your SEO add on doesn't feature that, correct?

Are there any plans to add it?

It seems SUPER important for a forum plugin to have these days, considering Google is literally telling forums to implement this.

And, in the meantime, any idea how can we add this ourselves?

Hi @priorideal,

Currently, wpForo only supports QAPage Schema:

https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/qapage

This schema will be automatically turned on if you change the forum layout to Q&A Layout.

Here is an example page: https://wpforo.com/community/migrate-to-wpforo-from-other-forum-plugins/migrate-to-wpforo-go2wpforo-tool/

And here is the schema output for Google:

Ok thank you. But just so you know - that's the wrong schema. Google VERY specifically put out an announcement with the new preferred format. Can we expect you'll add this to WPForo? Seems silly not to.

This is not a wrong schema, this is a correct schema for Q&A forums.

We'll take under consideration the new schema for classic discussion boards for sure.
