Suddenly my site gets a wordpress error and I can't log into my dashboard. If I disable the plugin through FTP, I can get back into the dashboard. It is a functions.php error on line 1431.
I don't want to have to install a different forum plugin as I would have to build from scratch and have users sign up again.

Please post the complete error.

This is the message when I activate the plugin and I cannot access the dashboard:
There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.
Wordpress sent me this:
First, visit your website () and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (wp-admin/plugins.php?deactivate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=) and check for any visible issues.
The recovery link in that email did not work either.
I have been using WPForo without any issues for several months until today.
I use Ultimate Member and wpForo Advanced Attachments.
I worked with my hosting support and they found the functions.php line 1431 error and told me to deactivate the plugin.
I'd like to continue using wp-foro without losing all of the settings. My Wordpress build is 6.1.1.
I had to deactivate the plugin through FTP by renaming it.
Help!

Just enable STANDARD Wordpress DEBUG TO A LOG and let us know the fatal error details.
Critical error functions.php means nothing.

I am not sure how to do that.
