I'm using WPForo in Extended Layout mode on a new forum.  The forum isn't really live yet, there are no links to it from the other website, but you can see it here:

http://hikeraton.com/forums/

I've had pretty good luck customizing the forum colors but there are two colors that I can't seem to change.

The first is on the drop-down sub-menu items.  It's stuck on a medium-grey color that doesn't match anything else.  It's not a functional problem, just an annoyance.

The second is related to usability when entering text.  The text box is too similar to the surrounding color, making it difficult to see where the box actually is.  I'd like it to be the same as the "Enter Title Here" box if possible.  Again, I just can't seem to find the correct place to change this.

I've attached a screenshot image to help explain.

If you used custom CSS I'd not be able to help you.

I recommend use wpForo colors settings:

https://wpforo.com/docs/root/wpforo-settings/style-settings/

Color guide: https://wpforo.com/docs/root/forum-themes/theme-styles/

Note: Please remove all custom CSS codes,  use the Red or Orange style, and only change the #12 primary color to your website primary color #965013 . Don't change all colors.

Thank you for the reply.

I have not added any custom CSS code, I don't even know how; I've only changed colors through the wpForo color settings.

I'd just like to know which numbers in the color guide correspond to the two elements: the background of drop-down menu items and the text box background.

One more related question:  After making numerous changes to the wpForo color styles, how can I reset the colors back to their original values?

I tested your suggestion and there was no change.  I switched the Color Style to Orange and the text box background is still the same color as the surrounding field, making it difficult for users to see where they should enter text.

The textbox color doesn't come from wpForo, this is the WordPress Rich editor. It seems your theme or other plugins affect WordPress rich editor style. Try to deactivate other plugins, change the theme and check it. It should be withe by default, it should be exactly as you see it here. it doesn't matter what color style you use. Color styles don't affect the editor textarea.

In any case if you didn't find solution I recommend use this trick:
