Hello, I just wanted to say I love your plugin! I would like to create an invite-only forum which would allow users to register by following a specific URL and/or using a special invite code. I would like people I invite to be able to invite a limited number of people, and I would like to be able to change that number in the settings. I would like this forum to be read-only for people who don't have access to post. Is this possible to do? Perhaps it could be an addition to the Private message addon?
One last question: Is there a way for me to create usernames and passwords so that I can email them out to people? Creating new accounts is a layer of friction that I want to remove when inviting users to the forum.
I, too, would like to create an invitation only forum.
I'd like to remove the Registration form from the public, then perhaps just send a link to the registration form (hidden from public) as the invitation. I'll send the invitation via email (outside of the forum), but just need a link to send people to so they can register.

User Registration is a WordPress core feature, wpForo provides a nice registration page/form, but it doesn't do the registration. All processes are being done by WordPress. So you should find this solution in WordPress plugins not in wpForo options.Here are some plugins which may do the job:

Before installation of these plugins please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Features Tab and set "Yes" these two options:
- Replace Registration Page URL to Forum Registration Page URL
- Replace Reset Password Page URL to Forum Reset Password Page URL
