Is there a way to have a member hidden from the Member directory when they are spammed in BuddyPress?

We use BuddyPress as our member community

Hi @vanessa,

Our wpForo can hide a group of members from the members list in the front end. You just need to uncheck the checkbox named 'Display on Members List' from Dashboard > wpForo > Usergroups. Edit the user group, and uncheck the 'Display on Members List' checkbox.

Regarding BuddyPress spam members, if you can collect those users inside one group, you can exclude that group from the Members list. Alternatively, you can set those users as inactive and  the inactive users automatically not shown in the members list.

@blackraz Thanks, right now we have moderators take an extra step to assign them to another WordPress role that is hidden.

It would be better if spammed members were automatically hidden rather than requiring this extra step.

Sorry, but there is currently no way to perform this action automatically. The plugin that sets users as blocked is not the wpForo plugin. If you want to automate this process, additional custom integration code is needed. The code will connect the hooks where the user can be set as blocked from BuddyPress and synchronize between the two platforms.

@blackraz thanks. I'll consider getting a quote for custom integration work sometime in 2024. Not a super high priority for us now, but for sure a nice to have in the future.
