Hello,
I just upgraded my WPForo site to 2.0.6. From the time I updated I can no longer open on any forum links. I get redirected back to the main forum page. Click on a forum, and it just reloads the form list again. Infinite loop.
I followed all recommendations for upgrading.
Deactivated all add-ons, upgraded main plugin, then updated all of the addons.
I then upgraded to WordPress 6.02 (from 5.9.4), same problem.
The I deactivated all addons. Same problem.
I have cleared all caches both in WPForo, on our server and at CloudFlare.
The problem persists when viewing as a guest or admin.
I've tried numerous permissions settings and these settings all worked before the upgrade.
Would love to know what happened!
Thanks,
Kim
The site link is wrong, it doesn't exist ....
Fixed. Thanks!
Hi Robert,
I set my page rules in Cloudflare to Bypass the cache for these URLs and I still have the same issue.
Database Tables show No Problems Found in Database
Issues and Recommendations says No Issues Found
The Error log file shows the last error in March of 2022.
Anything else I can try?
I will also attempt to test this in my test environment as well to see if I can turn off other plugins to resolve the issue (assuming this might be a plugin conflict)
Best,
Kim
Hi Robert,
Finally got my test site updated and turned off ALL non-essential plugins and discovered that the problem is with Permalink Manager Pro. There was no issue with 1.X.X so I'm not sure what changed between 1.X and 2.X with respect to permalinks but a conflict between WPForo and Permalink Manager Pro causes WPForo to loop back to the Forums list and not show any forum content.
Investigation of all settings shows that enabling this option causes the problem:
Canonical redirect Canonical redirect allows WordPress to "correct" the requested URL and redirect visitor to the canonical permalink. This feature will be also used to redirect (old) original permalinks to (new) custom permalinks set with Permalink Manager.
I will contact Permalink Manager Pro to see if they know why this is a problem and see if we can add a way to exclude by URL from the permalink manager. Can you also investigate on your end to see why WPForo is incompatible with this popular plugin?
Thanks,
Kim
