Hello!

I've recently installed WPforo on my website https://honeymoonadventurers.com

For some unknown reason this effect the "lost password functionality on wordpress. Also, lost password within the forum also doesn't work. Any ideas?

My domain hosting support team tried fixing that, but some how their actions resulted in messing up my home page and site overal functionality ... :S

Thank you for your help

Hi @pircm13,

We've just checked your form and the lost password works fine on your website. We were able to reset the password and login with a new one.

BTW the user registration and account creation are a part of WordPress core. wpForo only provides a registration form.

Hi! Thank you very much for looking at this promptly, I really appreciate it. It pleases me to hear that thing work on your end. But they don't on mine. You can see the Print Screen attached (currently, I don't even see a menu bar. Is it possible that the browser is causing this? I am using Chrome ... Thank you

Your site is FULL of html errors. I mean FULL. And also some JS errors.

Scripts after closing html, i mean a mess. If you have changed manually your theme, revert back.

That is your problem.

Thank you for your answer. I haven't been changing my theme at all. Is this caused by the errors in the theme? As a word press user you chose a theme and hope it works ok, but to hear that there are many errors is not OK.

Should I change my theme or get the support to try and fix it? Thank you

Just check the html source code of your pages (with your browser) and you will what i mean.

As for the rest, it can be a theme problem but i doubt that such a bad theme exist.

Also press f12 in your browser and see the console errors.

Sorry i can't help more, but all this is not related to wpForo and beyond the scope of this support forum.

You seem to have some strange caching/optimizing named hashcache.js in your ROOT. You have any ideas why it is there and who put it there ?

Ok, those problems are for your whole site not just for wpForo pages. So you better fix them in order to be able to properly provide that service to visitors.

Also i'm pretty sure that if you enable Debug.log you will see in there several problems and errors.

All those are not hard to fix, don't worry.

Hey! You seem like an honest person, so I turn to you for help.

My domain support team said everything is in order on their end, so I turned to my theme support, where they said that there are plugins causing these errors and that I should remove your plugin and replace it with bbpress ...

Reply from my theme support:"Better you use bbpress forum plugin which is WordPress default forum plugin and does not cause issues.
When plugin developers have issues with anything they will start blaming others without accepting the fact that their plugins causes issues whereas the whole website works just fine without any problems.
Console errors happen when there are several plugins and not all of them are due to WordPress.
Even Gmail shows console errors so would the plugin guy say let's fix gmail?? Ridiculous i would say."

I did get to the bottom of hashcache.js file that is appended to the end of your HTML pages. According to the domain support team: "This is something we do add to ALL sites hosted. This JS file prevents unwanted spam from submitting comments on your site." And they claim this has no negative effects."

I really hate when this happens and different supports start to pass me around.

As such I would really appreciate if you have any ideas on how to fix these issues.

I went to WPforo settings and changed the name o your-honeymoon-experience , but it is still displaying community ( https://honeymoonadventurers.com/community but https://honeymoonadventurers.com/your-honeymoon-experience also seem to be loading). However, the menu bar of the forum is all gray (no items displayed), which you can see in the image attached. Any ideas how could I try and fix this on my own?

Should I try uninstalling and deleting all of the sites related to WPforo and then reinstalling the plugin?

Thank you again for your assistance.

Well, i will post here what you must do and try to help. In the meantime and while i prepare the text to post, i will say that your hosting have NO IDEA what they are talking about and you better find a real one that knows Wordpress.

Because nobody puts JS  files in the root of a website and especially Wordpress.

Please wait a 1-2 hours that i get home and try to help you out.
